Sue Warner

Liberal Judaism and its tradition of compassion has always been central to Susan’s life.

Her grandmother served as nurse during World War 1 and this greatly influenced her to follow in her footsteps and to train as a nurse. She served with the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service and worked in war zones and in humanitarian service. She also worked with the National Health Service.

She was injured in service and then learnt to swim, in later life. She has had the honour to participate in the Warrior Games in 2015 in Quantico, Virginia and the 2016 Invictus Games in Florida, winning medals at both games. She has devoted her life to inspiring others not to give up.

She is currently in swimming training, is developing Pilates, is an active member of the Invictus Choir and the Belfast Jewish Community, and has attained Silver in the Discovery Awards (the equivalent to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, for the over 50s).
